Location

The University of Bern is based in the heart of the Swiss capital of Bern and is a stroll away from the House of Parliament and the downtown area featuring the old medieval town. Bern was founded in the 12th century, and the comprehensive university has roots dating back to the 16th century. The eight university faculties and some 160 institutes offer a broad choice of courses and programs. With the Center of Continuing Education ZUW, the university has a one-of-a kind first-class service for further training at the graduate level. It is within this service that the evaluation training department hosts the IPDET program.

The course rooms are located within short walking distance of the main building, overlooking the Jungfrau Mountain region — the Top of Europe — and the old town, a UNESCO world heritage site. Using the public transportation system’s frequent bus, tram, or train connections offers plenty of choice. Swiss summers are pleasantly warm, but jackets may be needed for cool evenings or trips to the mountain areas and sweaters for indoor air conditioning.
